Looking to get involved in community samba drumming in Reading or Rushmoor? I co-lead Beatroots Bateria with Readipop, a long-established community drumming group that welcomes adults of all abilities. Whether you’ve never picked up a drum before or already have experience, our sessions are inclusive, high-energy, and focused on learning authentic Brazilian samba rhythms in a fun and supportive environment. You’ll develop confidence, coordination, and musical skills while becoming part of a real percussion ensemble, playing traditional instruments such as surdos, caixas, and tamborims. We also perform at local events and festivals, giving you the opportunity to take part in exciting live performances and connect with the wider community. No experience is needed—just bring enthusiasm and a willingness to play.
